Wautoma History

1st Courthouse in Wautoma

Built by Geo. W. Smith, who then owned the Old Grist Mill, and sold by him to the Town of Wautoma in 1857 for $1,257. The Town provided this building for use of the County when county seat was removed from Sacramento here. Next west is shown the old Web & Witter Law Office Building. It was later used for a milinery and remodeled for a house in 1905.
